My massage pressure is flexible, ranging from extremely light to 9/10 in extremely deep pressure, depending on what you ask for and is acceptable to you, and my acupuncture technique is nearly painless, as I use very thin needles and a gentle Japanese technique. In both I generally offer a relaxing-therapeutic style, so you can leave with your concerns fully addressed and taken care of, while also feeling calmer and more relaxed.

I'm a licensed massage therapist and acupuncturist and have been practicing for 14 years. I have many years of experience and education in a wide variety of massage and acupuncture protocols and nutrition— including whole-food diets, Standard Process food supplements and MediHerb therapy—all of which allows me to provide the best possible outcome for my clients. I incorporate cupping and acupuncture into my massages if I think it will benefit my client. It's important to me to listen carefully to your concerns as well as to your body, so that I can create a specific, personalized, optimal treatment for each of your sessions.

McCaskill Building

BUILT 1895

Second Street Wellness, located in the Historic Downtown District off Main Street, is housed in an old building known as the McCaskill House. K.H. McCaskill, a local blacksmith who lived at the turn of the 19th century, built the two-story house in 1895 with used brick from an earlier building in town. Thus the materials in this building are thought to be the oldest in the commercial historic district. It housed boarders like Masons and railroad workers until 1905, when Marie Polansky opened a small bakery and grocery store downstairs. The first floor was divided in 1934 for small businesses, such as the City Shoe Shop, located in the building until 1970. Today a small artist's studio is located in one side of the downstairs and Second Street Wellness is housed on the corner side. The interior of Second Street Wellness retains McCaskill House's original charm, with a high wooden ceiling and the original red brick showing through broken white plaster on the walls.
